This tip is useful for law firms and other organizations that need to calender response dates (e.g. 50 days out to respond to discovery, 20 days out to answer law-suit etc.)

Need to calender an appointment or deadline a specific number of days out? Rather than manually counting days on your calendar, try this trick:

  • Open your Outlook Calendar
  • Click “New Appointment”
  • In the “Start Time” text box, type in your number of days after as shown below, then hit tab!

  • After hitting tab, the days auto-calculate as shown below!

 

If you rebooted your computer recently and noticed your favorites folders in outlook are missing. Use these simple steps to restore them:

  1. Close Outlook.
  2. Click the Start button in the lower, left corner of the screen. (click Start > Run if you do not use Windows 7) See below image.
  3. In the field where your cursor is flashing, type “outlook.exe /resetnavpane”.
  4. Open Outlook.

You’re favorites folders will now be visible at the top of the left navigation pane.

The following applies to Outlook 2003, 2007 and 2010:

Have you ever held down or hit a wrong key while typing an email in Outlook and the paragraph symbols are added to each line I type? (see below image) Try this simple solution to remove the paragraph symbols.

Use the following steps to remove the paragraph symbols:

1. Open a new email

2. Click somewhere inside the body of the new email

3. Locate and press CTRL + SHIFT + 8

4. Close your email window.

5. Open a new email window to find that your paragraph symbols are gone!

Open your PDF document. In the menu bar at the top click the following:

Edit > Preferences > Commenting > Print notes and pop-ups.

1. Right click and choose to open your ledesfilename.txt with Excel

2. Copy the “|” symbol from anywhere in the Excel spreadsheet

3. Select all of Column “A” (Click the letter A)

4. Click “Data” from the menu

5. Select “Text to Columns”

6. Select the “Delemited” radio button

7. Click “Next”

8. Uncheck the “Tab” Delimiter and check “Other”

9. Place the “|” symbol in the text box

10. Click “Next” then “Finish”

11. Save your new spreadsheet as Yourfilename.xls to your desired location.
